The next Crypto Finance Conference in St. Moritz will take place in mid-January and feature several prominent speakers. A key topic of the conference will be blockchain and crypto trends in Africa.
With the slogan „The most private crypto finance and blockchain conference for investors,“ the 3-days Crypto Finance Conference (CfC) is probably the biggest small crypto and blockchain conference you have never heard of.
It takes place annually in the city of St. Moritz, Switzerland, and allows investors to exchange ideas with other investors, analysts, and entrepreneurs. The application-only gathering offers expert education, investment insights, and excellent networking opportunities in a breath-taking setting.
Nicolo Stoehr, CEO of the CfC St. Moritz, comments, “The conference underlines Switzerland’s prominent position on the global crypto stage and the growing interest around cryptocurrency and blockchain exploration at the highest levels of government and industry. It also provides a platform to explore opportunities for collaboration and to identify hubs of burgeoning activity.”
The conference will take place for the third time from January 15th to 17th 2020, followed by the World Economic Forum in Davos one week after.
Prominent speakers and a wide range of topics
On the contrary to most other crypto conferences, which try everything possible to gain the attention of journalists and social media channels, CfC strives to maintain a private setting. There is little media and social media coverage.
The maximum attendance is limited to 200 and speakers are selected carefully. This year, SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce will join the event lineup, leading a discussion on several different topics including regulatory challenges on the international scale and in the US, obstacles regarding mainstream adoption of blockchain, bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, and the SEC’s current agenda on cryptocurrency and blockchain.
Federal Councillor and Head of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Ignazio Cassis, will speak about foreign policy.
Deputy Member of the Governing Board of the Swiss National Bank (SNB) Dr. Thomas Moser will discuss how central banks are gearing up for mainstream adoption of digital currencies.
Other speakers are Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, co-founders of Gemini, Meltem Demirors from Coinshares, Bill Tai, Chairman & CEO of ACTAI Global, and many more.
Stoehr seems happy about this year’s selection of speakers. He says, “Attracting such an array of esteemed speakers from different parts of the world and industries to the third annual Crypto Finance Conference is a testament to the far-reaching influence of the cryptocurrency and blockchain spheres, as well as the growing appetite for high-level discussion around cryptocurrency’s assimilation in our global society.”
Africa a key focus during the 2020 event
An exciting focus at this years’ conference will be Africa’s role as a global cryptocurrency and blockchain powerhouse – a topic that is not often discussed at other popular crypto and blockchain events.
The conference will include a number of talks highlighting the developments in Africa’s blockchain community and opportunities for further expansion. Speakers include Günter Nooke, German Chancellor’s Personal Representative for Africa, Carlo Rossotto from the Worldbank, and Christopher Fabian from Unicef.
Stoehr comments, “I’m excited by the groundswell of momentum powering Africa’s emergence as a bonafide crypto and blockchain center of the future — a topic that will be explored in detail over the course of the conference.”
